Sometimes, life surprises us with unexpected opportunities and moments of recognition. Such was the case for me last week, when we found themselves mentioned in the prestigious Sunday Times Business Section. It all started when a reporter named Jon Yeomans, Deputy Editor, reached out to the Bridgwater Chamber of Commerce, seeking insights on the potential impact of the upcoming Giga Factory at Gravity in Bridgwater. Through a small chain of connections and a casual conversation, out thoughts made its way into the article, leaving us shocked and a little embarrassed by the unexpected spotlight.
The chain of events leading to the mention in the Sunday Times began when Diogo Rodrigues, General Manager of the Bridgwater Chamber of Commerce, received a request for a comment on the potential arrival of the Giga Factory. Aware of the impact this could have on local businesses, Rodrigues reached out to us as we are well-known within the community and members of the Chamber!
When I met with reporter Jon, we had a informal and friendly conversation that lasted approximately 20 minutes. It was an opportunity for Jon to gather insights directly from someone who might be directly affected by the arrival of the Giga Factory. The discussion covered topics such as the potential impact on the local economy, job creation, and the general feeling of the business community towards this new and exciting venture.
After the conversation, with me, Jon met with other members of the business community and took all of the details to create an article for the Sunday Times Business Section. The article, focuses on the potential effects of the Giga Factory’s arrival on local businesses, highlighted the views and experiences of business owner, providing a valuable perspective to readers. Never did I for a second think my name would be in the opening comments!
The mention in the Sunday Times not only brings recognition to us but also shines a spotlight on Bridgwater and its business community as a whole. The article raises awareness of the potential economic growth and job opportunities that the Giga Factory could bring to the area. It may even pique the interest of investors, entrepreneurs, and individuals considering relocating or expanding their businesses to Bridgwater.
Sometimes, life takes us on an unexpected journey, and this is one of those moments! It has led to little teeny Timeless Images being named in the esteemed Sunday Times Business Section. Through a casual conversation with reporter Jon, our insights on the potential impact of the Giga Factory found their way into print. We hope that this will put Bridgwater’s business community on a broader stage and see continued success for the area.
