We understand that thinking about a newborn photoshoot can bring up lots of questions and worries. It’s completely normal, and we want you to know that we’re here to help make this experience as special and stress-free as possible. So, let’s talk about some of the things you might be concerned about and how we can make it all work for you and your new family.
- I know I will want all the images and won’t be able to afford them.
We understand the desire to cherish all the moments. We offer a range of packages to suit different budgets. Our team can also help you select the best images to make it more affordable while preserving precious memories. We can also offer payment over 3 months and once complete your order will be prepared for you as soon as possible.
- I’m worried about a hard sell afterward.
Don’t worry! At Timeless Images, we value your experience and comfort. We believe in a no-pressure approach. After the photoshoot, we’ll share a variety of image packages, but the choice is entirely yours. There’s no obligation to purchase, and we’re here to guide you without any pressure.
- Don’t know when or how to book in.
We recommend booking after your 20-week scan or soon after to secure your ‘floating date’, but we can accommodate last-minute bookings if our schedule permits. A Floating Date means that we book a mini slot in our diary and once your baby is healthy happy and home, then we will confirm an actual photo shoot in our diary at a time that is good for everyone. Your ‘floating date’ should be for around 7 days after your due date as in theory, your baby will have arrived by then! To make a booking click here scroll to the calendar and follow the steps. Once we have your booking we will be in touch!
- I’m worried my baby won’t behave or sleep.
Newborns are unpredictable, and that’s absolutely fine! Garry is very experienced in working with babies, having now photographed over 1000 babies in the last 6 years. He is also very patient and will give you time and space to feed and settle your little one. We can capture beautiful moments, whether your baby is awake or asleep.
- I’m worried about leaving the house.
We offer in-studio photoshoots, and your partner or family member can drop you at the top of our road which is a very short walk to our warm and cosy studio. We understand if you have had to have a c-section that this is a major operation for you so try to make you as comfortable as possible. For many of our clients, a trip to see us may be, other than going to see a midwife, the first time that you have taken your little one out. We know how long it takes to get out of the house with a new small person and all their belongings so if you’re running late, this is fine! There is also a welcome hot cup of tea or coffee on hand while you take some time to relax and watch your new little one have their photographs taken.
- My friend’s baby had loads of appointments, so I won’t be able to fit it in.
You will be amazed at how many appointments your new little one suddenly has in their diary! In days gone by Midwives came to us at home but this seems to have disappeared – we understand that these are necessary for the health of any new little one! So we aim to make the process efficient and enjoyable, with flexible timing to accommodate your needs. We do allow 4 hours in our diary but most of the time if you can ‘give’ us 3 hours which will include time for feeding, changing, and settling, during that time, we will create some beautiful images for you.
- I didn’t do it with my other children so don’t think it’s fair.
It’s never too late to start creating memories. Each child is unique, and we can help you capture the special moments with your new baby, creating wonderful memories for all your children to cherish. Your situation may have changed or you have decided that this new little one will be your last and so this is a wonderful way of celebrating your new complete family.
- I want my partner and kids involved but they will be at work/school.
We generally schedule the photoshoot for a time that suits your family’s availability, as well as while your partner is off work on paternity leave so they can join in this special moment. We can book a photoshoot for later in the day when other children can come from school to join you for the end of time in our studio. We don’t mind them getting changed or having snacks when they arrive. We want to capture those special moments when everyone can be present. If this is not possible, then we can always arrange a mini top-up photoshoot on another day and the photos will be added to your collection.
- I did not think I would want images but I do now…is my baby too old?
While we specialize in newborn photography, it’s not limited to the first few days. We can capture beautiful moments with your baby even if they’re a bit older. It may be that you have had an extended stay in hospital or are just not feeling up to it. That is fine but we would recommend that if your little one is older than 6 weeks, this becomes more of a family photo shoot which we can extend if necessary. Once your little one can hold their heads up at around 14-16 weeks old, we can offer a Baby Portrait Photo Shoot.
- Can’t think about it now – not a priority
We completely understand that life gets busy and can be a little stressful when a new little one joins the family – time just disappears. You can book your session for a later date, ensuring you don’t miss out on capturing those early moments of your baby’s life. You may be waiting for a birthday, anniversary, or Christmas to create some special family moments and this is all possible at whatever age your little ones are!
If there is one point to take away is that they don’t stay little for long so don’t hesitate and book some form of photo shoot so you have lasting memories. Feel free to contact us if you have any more questions or concerns. We’re here to make the experience as enjoyable and stress-free as possible.
