Newborn Photo Shoot Experience

We recommend you book your Newborn session whilst you are still pregnant, after your 20-week scan. At that time, we will be able to guarantee your booking in our diary for your wonderful Newborn experience. If you wish to go ahead, we will book a ‘floating date’ into our diary – a date around 7 days after your due date and prioritise your booking over all other enquiries. 

After that, we’ll send you all the information you need on how to get the best out of your session. Once your little one has arrived then we ask you to let us know and we will confirm your booking.

Yes, of course, you can! We love bump sessions and will gift this to you for free so you can celebrate this awesome time and get the chance to meet us before your baby arrives. It’s best taken at 34-36 weeks just in case the baby decides to make an early appearance!  This is taken entirely in your comfort zone on how much you want to bare! 

Please do think about personalising your Maternity Session.  We do have some dresses that you are able to use if you wish but we will guide you as to what to bring for your Maternity Photo Shoot.  

In our experience, we find that photographing your teeny tiny baby when they are 7-21 days new is best. They are still very sleepy and curly. The only time this will change is if the baby arrives very early! 

All sessions take place in our professional, baby-friendly studio, in Bridgwater, Somerset, and take place on weekdays generally while Dad is still on paternity leave. We allow 2-3 hours for the session. This allows for feeding, changing, and settling.  We’ll have plenty of cookies, tea, and coffee to keep you going. Some parents have even been known to catch forty winks.

Newborns can be unpredictable so ‘what if’ is a question we hear a lot! 

What if my baby wants a feed?

Your little one will need a feed at some point during the session so we will give you the time and space to do this in peace. Garry will leave the studio and give you a doorbell to ping when you are ready to begin again.

What if my baby is a bit jaundiced, or has flaky skin?

No problem…we will be able to enhance any images to make them perfect (including skin colouring, baby milk spots, dry skin, etc)

What if my baby will not sleep? 

Don’t worry about it! All babies, when they are comfy and content, will sleep and we have lots of patience and experience coupled with a lovely relaxing environment for baby and you.  

As a new family, this is the very first time you will have the opportunity to have a family portrait taken. We encourage you to come prepared to have your photograph taken, but it’s not compulsory. If you already have little ones, then we will arrange for them to be included either at the beginning or towards the end of the session. They are very important at this stage, and you may find that Garry talks to them more than you to help them be at ease!

We love it when parents personalise their Newborn Photo Shoot Experience! If there is anything that you have been given by a family member or friend that you want to include in your session then please bring this with you. We supply all of these and have a large collection to choose from depending on your preferences. Garry will go through this as you arrive to check on colours and styles that will suit you and your home. 

After your studio session Newborn Experience, we’ll walk you through our photography gallery and explain in detail all the different options. You’ll also get a product guide to take away and look through before your viewing, which we will arrange for a time convenient to us all.   

At your viewing, you will be able to choose your included product of 10×8 art-mounted framed print of your choice and 10 thank you cards.  We have a huge range of products including, WallArt (Canvas art wraps, gallery, gift frames, etc), Downloadable Digital images with print copyright, albums, and other print options. Prices range from £49 to £895 and everything in between.
